Parents’ Association

Thank you to all who have participated in and supported all of our 2017-2018 fundraising efforts. The money raised has provided special events such as The Lizard Guys and Peas & Carrots, as well as new books and classroom materials. With our scholastic points we will be purchasing a second listening center for our Pre-K classes, getting new books for the classrooms and replacing some favorites that are worn down from heavy use.

Our Fall Meet and Greet:

Happy Fall! Thanks to all who visited Panera on our MMO night last month, and to those who attended Parents Night. Special thanks to those who signed up to assist with the Parents Association, or volunteered to become a class parent. Be on the lookout for more information soon.

October holds a lot of ‘treats.’ We will be having our second restaurant night at Ah Pizz in Montclair; below is the flyer needed for a percentage of the proceeds to go back to MMO Programs. Our terrific fall fundraiser – the Silver Graphics Art fundraiser is wrapping up the creation stage. You will soon receive a customized order form showcasing your child’s artwork that can be made into a variety of items – great for holiday gifts! Finally, come meet us at the Fall Meet and Greet on October 21. It is a great way to chat with the staff and your fellow parents, and let the kids burn off some energy.

MAY 2017:

Our Spring Fling was a great success! We raised $2,200 for MMO.  Congrats to all the winners, and thanks to all who attended and participated in the raffles.

My extreme gratitude and appreciation is for my husband, Keith. None of this would have been possible without his hard work. Special thanks to Corrine and Missy for their help, to Fitzgerald’s 1928 for hosting us and to Bareburger for sponsoring us.

Speaking of, please join us for our final restaurant night of the year at Bareburger on Wednesday, May 24. Flyers with details to follow.

Don’t forget, if you have any spring plant or flower needs, all purchases at Metropolitan Plant Exchange of $50 or more result in $10 donated back to MMO. Please reach out if you need a flyer or download a copy below.

September 12:

On behalf of the MMO Parent Association, I would like to welcome our new families, as well as welcome back our returning ones! I’m excited to work with MMO’s administration, teachers, students and families again this year to both foster a closer community, and help with the school’s needs to better serve our children.

Be on the lookout for upcoming information about our year-long fundraising opportunity, Shop with Scrip, which is an easy way to purchase gift cards that you may use for your everyday purchases, and also help out MMO at the same time.

The PA has a lot of great events planned for this year, but we need your help. If you would like to be a classroom liaison, or a general PA member, please email for more info.

Looking forward to a great school year!

– Nicole Dougherty Parent Association President

MMO has a very active Parents’ Association. For those who wish to be involved in a large or small role, there is something for everyone! This organization coordinates events such as the Scholastic Book Fair,  nights out at Panera Bread and Montclair’s Bareburger and more, like the very successful and fun Casino Night Gala last spring.

All events are to raise funds for capital improvements to the school’s facilities and the purchase of new school materials.

If you are interested in joining and meeting fellow parents of MMO, be sure to come here for more information about our next meeting and/or other ways to be involved.
